Workshops and Conference in Norrtälje

On the 19th of June we invite you to join a day full of sea related activities, workshops and talks. The event is organized in collaboration with Norrtälje Naturcentrum.

Location: Societetsparken, 761 30 Norrtälje, Sweden.

Timetable

  • Workshops/ activities and displays available and open for visits 12:00 – 16:00.
  • Stage program from 13:00 to 15:30.

Workshops/ activities and display

  • Norrtälje Nature Center (NNC) – activity (salinity and biodiversity)
  • Erken laboratory – activity (fishnets and crayfish, roleplay)
  • Norrtälje Water and Waste company (NVAA) –  recycling activities, information and display of emergency water tank 
  • Project Clean Bottoms (RENA BOTTEN) – activity (diving in the bay collecting items from the bottom)
  • Swedish Baltic Sea Center, Stockholm University (Östersjöcentrum, SU) – information and display. Researchers share findings concerning brown algae and information about ongoing Citizen Science activity “Algforskarsommar 2024” 
  • The local savings bank (RSB) – information about the local Save the Baltic Sea project
  • The local ICA grocery store (ICA Flygfyren)
  • Tartu Nature House (TEEC) – info about TEEC and our joint outdoor project
  • For a Clean Lithuania (FCL) – info about Save the Baltic Sea initiative

13:00 – Welcome

13:05 -13:15 – interview with representatives from FCL and hikers (in English, translated to Swedish shortly) 

13:15 – 13:35 – NVAA – 3 short talks from water and waste experts  

13:40 – Panel talk (4 participants – Andreas Lundin Lindgren (NVAA), Johannes Sandberg (Norrtälje Municipality, water coordinator), Jens Olsson (SLU), Dan Svennberg

14:15 – 14:30 – Lena Kautsky, SU – research on Brown Algae performed in Norrtälje

14:30 – 15:00 – Music entertainment by a local singer and songwriter

15:00 – 15:30 – Talk by Save the Bottoms 10-15 min

15:30 – End of stage program
