1st week. Hiking through Curorian spit and entering Poland.

The first week is in the books. Through the winds, the rain and fantastic scenery, we have completed the first week of 39! We have successfully passed through the stunningly beautiful Curorian spit and through wonderful parts of Poland. We already witnessed some devastation that the Baltic Sea faces, from mountains of trash, leftover ship parts and unsafely disposed medicine. However, we also met volunteers picking up the rubbish and had really interesting and inspiring talks with the local communities, who want to preserve and protect the Baltic sea. Walk beside us and see what we saw on the first leg of the journey!
