Luleå beach clean up
Jul. 18, 2024Date: August 9, 2024
The sea begins here!
In our hearts and minds,
In our homes and cities,
From every stream by which we live.
The team of the “Save The Baltic Sea” hiking expedition, which embarked from the Lithuanian seaside on March 11, 2024, invites people to come together to the Luleå beach on August 9th at 17:00 PM (local time) to participate in a beach clean-up.
Let’s meet on the Luleå beach and create a sense of community. By cleaning our beaches of litter we show our care for the sea!
The Baltic Sea begins from our homes, streets, rivers, and fields. We have a choice of what impact we make on the state of the aquatic ecosystems. Each of us carries a share of responsibility, which is why our daily habits, eco-literacy, knowledge, and choice of the goods we consume are so important. We can and must start with ourselves.
The Baltic Sea is among the five most polluted seas in the world. Its preservation is essential for improving the ecological health of the sea, supporting marine life, and ensuring the well-being of millions of people living in the surrounding countries.
The sea is a link between generations!
It connects the people of the Baltic shores!
Here are some sustainable tips for the event:
- After the event, check if you have not left any of your belongings behind.
- Bring garbage bags and reusable gloves. Dispose of the collected garbage responsibly.
- Go to the beach by public transport, bike, or rental vehicle. When traveling by car, cooperate with your family and friends.

Our strength is in acting together!
The expedition is a private initiative of its initiator and leader Giedrius Bučas, so every euro you donate will be a contribution to the partnership which is much needed.
